This publication examines the viewpoints of Russian foreign policy makers and academic analysts on current US foreign policy and its implications for the Russian Federation. The author argues that policymakers in Moscow strongly believe that US and Russian views on international security coincide. He concludes that US differences with France and Germany should not be overstated but that in the long term Moscow is likely to believe it has more in common with Europe than the US.
