Publication

This publication examines the development of the Russian-EU relationship under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin. Soviet policy toward the EU both prior to and under former general secretary of the Communist Party Mikhail Gorbachev are considered, along with Russo-EU relations under former president Boris Yeltsin. The author concludes that Russia has no desire to play the US against the EU as both relationships are important.
