This paper explores the link between crime and AIDS orphans in sub-Saharan Africa. It debates whether children orphaned by AIDS represent a unique security and stability threat or whether their plight constitutes predominantly a humanitarian challenge. It also discusses factors that may mitigate the impact and incidence of crime among AIDS orphans.
