This paper focuses on the illicit movement of vehicles through the South African land border into Zimbabwe by way of the Beit Bridge border post. It notes that trafficking in stolen or illicitly acquired vehicles across South African borders is a concern for police officials, not only in South Africa, but also within the broader Southern African Development Community (SADC). It concludes by outlining the chief obstacles facing South Africa's border police.
