This paper evaluates the effectiveness of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) since its inception in 2001. It notes that NEPAD's chief objective is to eradicate poverty, and then surveys the structure of NEPAD and its programs. It concludes on a cautiously optimistic note, arguing that NEPAD remains promising but weighed down by significant resource shortages and internal discords.
