This paper discusses the prospects for regionalism in Africa, and focuses in particular on the challenges facing two institutions at the center of the united Africa debate: the African Parliament and the African Court of Justice. It also puts forward suggestions for reforming these institutions to ensure their maximum effectiveness in advancing regional integration. It employs comparative examples from the US and EU contexts.
