Publication

This paper discusses the clash between sovereignty and aspirations for African unity as exemplified by the African Union (AU). It considers the EU experience for comparative examination. The author concludes that the AU remains the most viable vehicle for achieving a United States of Africa, which is to be realized through the closer integration of member states.
