This book appraises the relevance and validity of realism as an interpretative tool in contemporary international relations. More specifically, contributions to the text carry out this review by 1) examining the theoretical tenets of classical and structural realism; 2) looking at major issues in contemporary global politics through a realist lens, and more. Overall, the text demonstrates that despite realism’s shortcomings, the tradition still offers a multifaceted understanding of global politics.
