This seminar synopsis focuses on the control systems that are necessary to prevent arms diversions in Asia and Oceania. The text specifically reviews 1) the national-level import-export arms control systems that exist in these parts of the world; and 2) the utility of existing international and regional frameworks, instruments and approaches to arms control.
