This publication highlights the results of a meeting that focused on what manufacturers, importers, distributers and other private sector actors can do to prevent the proliferation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The topics covered include 1) the roles and responsibilities of industry actors in this domain; 2) IED-related regulations which are relevant to the private sector; 3) how to secure the materials that can be used in these weapons; 4) information sharing about the threat posed by IEDs; and 5) the best practices that can help prevent IED proliferation.
