This publication analyzes recent achievements and setbacks in Guatemala’s efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The text’s author also provides recommendations on how the country can fight corruption and securitization to sustain peace and promote durable development. In particular, these recommendations relate to 1) communicating the 2030 Agenda through multi-stakeholder outreach; 2) improving the monitoring of progress; 3) aligning international aid plans with the 2030 Agenda’s local objectives; and 4) continued engagement with the private sector.
