This study examines the risk factors that increase the odds of an accidental or intentional use of nuclear weapons. In particular, the text’s authors 1) identify and categorize the sources of such risks, ranging from the strategic to the technological; 2) argue that risk analysts should focus more on nuclear disarmament; and 3) suggest risk mitigation measures that the international community could take in order to minimize the potential causes of nuclear weapons use.
