This volume features essays from various fields in the social sciences and cultural studies on the concept of the border in international relations theory and practice. The primary aim of the contributions is to demonstrate the necessity of a trans-disciplinary approach towards contemporary border studies. Some of the specific topics covered include 1) decolonial feminism and global politics; 2) why international law is Eurocentric and unable to account for ‘Muslim subjectivity’; 3) the differences between multiculturalism in Canada and Azerbaijan; 4) Eurocentric bias in EU migration policies, 5) the threat the so-called Islamic State poses to the Westphalian model of sovereignty, and much more.
