Since the post-JCPOA removal of sanctions against Iran, over 200 European trade delegations have visited the country and EU-Iran trade increased by 43% between 2015 and2016. This text describes in detail the economic and political relations Europe has established with Iran and how the latter hopes to use European countries as a counterweight to the US’ assumed hostility towards it.
