The articles in this edition of Conflict Trends look at 1) the role of regional and international interventions in resolving the crisis in Sudan following the ousting of Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir from the presidency in April 2019; 2) the history of political violence in Zimbabwe as well as reconciliation, peacebuilding and nation-building attempts in the country since 1980;3) Ethiopia’s federal order, which defines citizenship, politics and identity on ethnic grounds, and ethnic conflict under this system; 4) women and peacebuilding in Guinea-Bissau; 5) indigenous community-based natural resources management mechanisms in Ethiopia; and 6) how communications shutdowns led to violent conflict in Kashmir and Cameroon.
