This brief examines the cyber security threat posed by the large number of everyday (and insecure) devices that connect to the Internet, such as smart TVs, printers, and baby monitors. These add-ons are particularly vulnerable to Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, which have increased in 2016 and can compromise user privacy in multiple ways.
