A new peace initiative in South Sudan, the High Level Revitalization forum (HLRF), is set to fail unless its design is agile enough to respond to the changing circumstances in the region, or so says this article. In response, this publication highlights the ambiguities and delays that plagued previous peace efforts in the country and provides recommendations for the new HLRF initiative, which relate to 1) how to define the parameters for participation in the forum; 2) the need for a precise and well-defined agenda; 3) the importance of sticking to the HLRF timetable, and more.
