This report lays out six possible economic trajectories that Latin America and the Caribbean nations might take up to the year 2030. Overall, the text’s authors project that 57 million people in the regions will join the middle class over the next 14 years and that aggregate GDP growth will be 2.4 percent per year. However, they also believe that the region will face significant challenges, including income inequality, demographic growth and climate change. To deal with these problems, greater regional integration and better governance will indeed be necessary.
