According to an investigation by Nordic TV stations, Russian research vessels have been used to spy on wind farms. This brings underwater infrastructure into military focus. As CSS' Mauro Gilli explains to NZZ, underwater maps can be used to identify possible points of attack for acts of sabotage. Defending such infrastructure is proving to be very difficult, despite sonic navigation.
