In this review for the journal SIRIUS, CSS’ Brian G. Carlson looks at three studies which provide valuable analysis and useful policy recommendations for a common transatlantic China strategy. All three studies make important contributions to the debate on China policy on both sides of the Atlantic and rightly claim that the Chinese challenge calls for transatlantic cooperation. The election of Joe Biden as US President provides an opportunity to achieve this goal. At a time of great uncertainty in world politics, the implementation of a common transatlantic China strategy requires strong political will.
