In this Journal of Risk Research article, CSS’ Myriam Dunn Cavelty and Christine Eriksen explore how a focus on socio-technical vulnerability and uncertainty can make cyber security more resilient. In collaboration with Benjamin Scharte from the University of Tübingen, the open access article brings afore a conceptual discussion that presents the co-evolution of cyber security and resilience thinking, provides a better link between individuals and cyber systems, and pinpoint ways forward for researchers, policymakers, as well as practitioners.
