This report summarizes the views of southern Thai Buddhists concerning the peace dialogue between the Thai government and representatives of the Malay Muslim insurgency. The report is based on interviews with 140 Buddhists from across the conflict-affected southern border provinces of Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat. It was compiled by the Weaving Peace Together (WTP) group with the assistance of the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP) of Mahidol University, and published both in English and in Thai. Weaving Peace Together was established in 2015 to help promote Thai Buddhists engagement in peacebuilding in southern Thailand. It is supported by IHRP, the Center for Security Studies and the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.
