This Crisis Group report highlights that geography, economics and migration patterns dictate that Colombia and Venezuela, which severed diplomatic ties in 2019, will confront the coronavirus pandemic together. In response, the text’s authors contend that the two countries should temporarily mend their relations, and both sides in Venezuela’s ongoing political dispute should agree to pause their conflict, to allow for a coordinated humanitarian response.
