This issue of Canadian Military Journal (CMJ) begins with a comparison between force unification of the 1960s and the 2005 transformation process, an analysis of Canadian Arctic Sovereignty, and a discussion of territory under disputed sovereignty. Then the consequences of climate change for the Northwest Passage are highlighted and the role and importance of Canadian Rangers. The personal attributes, rationale and methodology of Special Operations Forces are discussed, then the problems of coalition interoperability for air campaigns, the development and disbandment of pre-World War I battalions and the publication ends with analysis of Canada's role in the evacuation of allied troops from Arnhem-Oosterbeek in 1944.
