This report discusses issues surrounding the protection of traditional knowledge in developing countries. It addresses the controversy surrounding bioprospecting and biopiracy, presents the various stakeholders engaged in this debate, and describes the work of NGOs that provide legal advocacy services, networks and funds to assist indigenous communities in protection of traditional knowledge.
