This paper presents strategies for post-conflict reconstruction in Chechnya. The author predicts that the prospects for peace and stability will be a long and complex process, considering that Chechen society lacks internal coherence and resources for post-war reconstruction while the willingness of the Russian state to allocate resources remains in question. The author gives a series of recommendations of how to manage this complex reconstruction task.
