This paper explores the strategies behind the international intervention in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton peace process. It examines the two areas of the intervention which present the most acute strategic dilemmas: the role of the international community in establishing the Bosnian State and international strategies for dealing with ethnic separatism.
