This report provides information on arms control and weapons export regulation measures in Bulgaria. The report discusses the social and economic reasons for the historic reluctance of Bulgarian politicians to implement strong arms control standards, and explains the traditional patterns of Bulgaria's arms control mechanisms. The report also provides analysis of the potential social, economic, and political effects of stronger and revised arms control measures in Bulgaria, and offers suggestions for improving the country's weapons export control system.
