This paper looks at the problem of human trafficking from Cambodia to Thailand and Vietnam and asks what the government, nongovernmental organizations and the private sector can do to help the victims. In particular, the author examines the reintegration of victims into the Cambodian society and asks whether reintegration actually helps victims to obtain a better job and contributes to helping their families. It is argued that reintegration will not succeed if it does not help eliminating poverty, the root cause of trafficking.
