This handbook presents the basic components of applied biosecurity that are relevant to all laboratory employees. It aims at engaging scientists, laboratory employees and students in laboratory biosecurity and to provide practical advice that will ensure the secure handling, managements and storage of biological materials. The author introduces the basic components of laboratory biosecurity and particularly considers the role of laboratory managers and principal investigators.
