This paper presents the proceedings of a joint APT-ACHPR (African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights) seminar on the prevention of torture in Africa. Seminar participants address legal and control measures to prevent torture and ill-treatment, as well as rehabilitation and reparation procedures. Moreover, participants also discuss training and empowerment measures to prevent torture and ill-treatment.
