This publication addresses the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), explaining that this area should in theory make Europe the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-driven economy by 2010. The author argues that SEPA should change the European payments business fundamentally and that services such as e-invoicing should allow cost reductions in the payment processes of bank customers and should offer banks additional sources of revenue.
