The paper contends that the erosion of support for Israel among the liberal American public as well as Israel’s position in political discussion between Republicans and Democrats could undermine Israel’s special relationship with the US in the medium and long term. To preserve the US-Israeli alliance, the text’s author contends that Israel’s positive image among the American public must be strengthened. Further, the Israeli community in the US is an asset for efforts to pursue this goal. As a result, the paper outlines a model for the establishment and management of an Israeli community that can help bridge the gap between the State of Israel and the American public.
