This research report analyzes the media image of the EU in 2006 in German, British, US and Swiss TV news shows as well as German print media. It finds that the EU was sidelined by the media – a reflection of the standstill of European integration. EU affairs are framed in a national perspective, and in cases where there was more attention to EU issues, this did not coincide with more positive coverage.
