This report offers a human security perspective on the impact of gun-related violence around the world. The report is focused around three themes: the human toll small arms are taking around the world, in particular on women and children; strategies to reduce the availability of small arms; and challenges to ending the misuse of these weapons. The report also considers the impact of small arms availability and misuse on health, humanitarian work, development, and human rights.
