This report examines economic, political, and security cooperation between India and Singapore following the two countries agreement to sign a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) in 2005, and the Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) in 2003. The author briefly lays out the milestones in the two countries’ rapprochement since the Cold War, arguing that India’s improved relations with ASEAN since the early 1990s have significantly helped in this area. From a Singaporean perspective, the author stresses the importance of cooperation on a bilateral as well as multilateral basis.
