This issue of the Canadian Military Journal (CMJ) discusses contemporary US-Canada defense cooperation. It reviews regional missile defense security and the possibility of renewing the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). The authors discuss Canadian public perceptions of the overseas peacekeeping role of armed forces, issues of troop reform and lessons learned from the 1994 Rwandan genocide that are applicable towards the conflict in Darfur. They examine Canadian military history pertaining to farm burnings in South Africa, responses to Japan's World War II balloon campaign and the development of national military museums.
