This publication examines the implications of the largely US-led Revolution in Military Affairs (RMA) for the stability and security of the Asia-Pacific region. The author explains that due to the RMA, the US military is likely to emphasize technological quality over manpower quantity, leading to a reduction in the number of US soldiers stationed in the Asia-Pacific region (100,000 as of July 2005). This, however, should not signify any change in either the US commitment to the region or its ability to deter aggression.
