This paper examines the ongoing debate over the adequacy of anti-terrorist airport security. While some experts are calling for more security checkpoints at these facilities, others question their ultimate utility. After all, the additional checkpoints would 1) have to cover vast additional areas, and 2) inhibit the flow of human traffic within air terminals, which would then unwittingly create additional vulnerabilities within the system.
