This commentary briefly assesses relations between Timor-Leste and Indonesia in the decade since Timor-Leste declared independence. It assesses the Truth and Friendship Commission created to rebuild ties between the two states, international pressure on the Timorese authorities to demand an international tribunal and the influence of personal relations on reconciliation.
