This paper assesses the prospects for a nuclear-free world, arguing that 2010 can only be a year of hope if global leaders are able to adequately respond to the challenges of new nuclear states. It discusses the future of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty and Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, noting that while there have been negative developments, some progress in nuclear issues has been made since the start of the decade.
