This commentary analyzes Indonesia’s challenges in respect to carbon dioxide emissions and sustainable economic development. The author notes that green energy businesses could offer Indonesia new opportunities to clean up its ecological reputation, while at the same time sustaining economic growth. He writes that renewable energies such as windmills and geothermal power projects might help the Indonesian government cover the needs of its population and adequately respond to the geographical prerequisites of the archipelago.
