This paper discusses Pakistan's nuclear weapons program and the dominant role of the military therein. The authors argue that, in recent years, Pakistan took steps to secure its nuclear weapons arsenal. As far as is publicly known, these activities adequately secured the respective sites against non-authorized access. The Pakistani Army, which is responsible for the security of the nuclear weapons, is aware of the weapons' strategic and global value. It can therefore be expected that it will do its best to secure the arsenal.
