This issue of the Canadian Military Journal (CMJ) opens with a look at the evolution of the Canadian approach to joint and combined operations at the strategic and operational level, and with the considerations about protecting the Canadian forces against asymmetric threats. Next it examines fighting Islamic terrorism and explores 11 September 2001 (a radical new departure in international terrorism). It also examines human subject participation in research projects and demystifying non-governmental organizations in peace support operations. Finally, the issue discusses about creating the 2nd tactical air force RAF for the Canadian Military Forces.
