This paper examines how Brexit may weaken both the UK’s and the EU’s capacity to promote their common values. In the case of their shared commitment to democracy and human rights, the text’s author argues that cooperation should be institutionalized through an official ‘democratic partnership’, and that it should follow five distinct ‘lines of action’.
