After five years of the inconclusive war between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006, some analysts see conditions ripe for another conflagration despite the presence of almost fifteen thousand United Nations troops along the Israeli-Lebanese border. They reason that Israel will not indefinitely allow Hezbollah to acquire advanced missile technology that erodes its qualitative advantage, and that the party’s bluster and added confidence since 2006 may convince it to undertake a successful adventure that could increase its clout once again in the Arab world.
