This paper looks at the sanctions applied to prisoners in contact with monitoring bodies and the consequences these have on their daily lives. Even though sanctions are most often inflicted against people deprived of their liberty, they may also be applied to other categories of persons, such as family members, employees of the place of detention, and monitors. These situations are also addressed in this paper.
