This Paper gives an overview of Israeli arms exports to sub-Saharan Africa during the period 2006–10. The author describes the role of Israel as a supplier of arms and training to Africa, and explains the motives for and restraints on exports to the region. He also assesses the framework of regulation and oversight of Israeli arms exports and how weapons supplied from Israel have been used in Africa.
