This brief argues that, political grandstanding aside, the message after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s visit to Pakistan in October 2011 indicates that the two sides are prepared to work together over a plan of action to engage the Taliban in creating a post-US withdrawal structure in Afghanistan.
