This paper examines the state of US-Philippine bilateral relations following the decision of the Philippine government to withdraw its soldiers from Iraq and reduce its commitment to the US-led coalition there. The author suggests that both governments should not over-emphasize the disagreements caused by the Philippine withdrawal from Iraq and instead keep working on their previously established patterns of cooperation and on their long term goals for achieving peace and security.
